Meet the SPA team.

We bring a whole mix of backgrounds — from big firms to family business. That gives you a rich source of experience to draw on.

Our Staff

Sarah Palic

Principal

As a business owner, Sarah understands the issues facing small to medium business. That lived experience, alongside her technical acumen, is what sets her apart.
Sarah also gets satisfaction from hearing that our service went above and beyond what clients expect.
Outside work, Sarah is on the finance committee of Canberra Girls Grammar. This is a chance for her to contribute her financial skills. It also reflects her values in seeing girls receive a supportive education.

Best part of work: “Seeing my clients and staff achieve their goals and grow in confidence.”

Glenn O’Sullivan

Principal

Glenn specialises in integrating accounting advice into sound business management. He’s particularly dedicated to helping family businesses succeed, by facilitating honest conversations.
Outside work, Glenn is an avid fisherman — when he can find the time in between supporting community organisations and sitting on the board of his local footy club.

Best part of work: “Helping family businesses through those crises or stalemates to achieve breakthroughs that get them closer to their goals.”

Ray King

Principal

Ray brings experience in financial reporting and business planning, with special expertise in accounting IT systems. He’s set up many of SPA’s internal systems, and offers that same expertise to our clients.
Outside work, Ray coaches kids soccer, and still gets on the field himself when the mood strikes.

Best part of work: “Working alongside great people and good clients, many of whom have become friends along the way.”

John Cuthel

Director

John has been a partner of accounting firms for 30 years, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for 40 years. His focus is on business growth, with several local businesses he’s assisted ultimately growing to become publicly-listed companies.
Outside work, you can find John on the golf course, trying to catch up with Mark.

Best part of work: “I enjoy working in a friendly, positive environment.”

Zeke Ezra

Director

Zeke brings over 40 years’ experience in accounting and business ownership. Zeke is particularly skilled in coordinating service across multiple teams to provide a client with simple, but sophisticated advice.
Outside work, Zeke is a black belt in Karate. He also enjoys gardening and restoring die-cast model cars.

Best part of work: “Watching people grow and succeed in life, whether they be clients or staff.”

Katrina Colley

Director

Katrina is responsible for taxation and financial advice, as well as assisting clients with business management. Her strengths are in problem solving and adaptability — she’ll give anything a go.
Outside work, Katrina enjoys snowboarding and learning French (for the benefit of her daughter).

Best part of work: “It’s like a never-ending puzzle helping clients identify and fit together their personal and business goals.”

Roxanne O’Sullivan

Senior Manager

Roxanne helps the principals and directors manage tax and accounting affairs. She also leads SPA’s program to mentor and train junior staff members. One of Roxanne’s proudest moments is helping a family business develop a strategic plan for growth, and seeing them bring that plan to life.
Outside work, Roxanne enjoys travel and spending time with family.

Best part of work: “Being part of a close-knit team that’s driven to do a great job for our clients.”

Amy Blyton

Senior Manager

Bringing 15 years’ experience across both public and private sectors, Amy is passionate about helping clients achieve their business and financial goals. While financial reports and budgets may send you cross-eyed, Amy thrives on the challenge of dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s.

Outside work, Amy’s work is never quite done with four children to keep her busy around the clock.

Best part of work: “Getting the chance to come to work every day and work in a job I’ve aspired to since I was 5 years old.”

Sharon Hourigan

Manager

Sharon specialises in accounting compliance and management reporting. She’s particularly skilled in finding the right system for the business at hand. Sharon is also a family business owner herself, and brings that perspective to her work.
Outside work, Sharon is into running and yoga. She’s also treasurer of the school P&C.

Best part of work: “I enjoy all my work – from solving a complex tax problem through to a simple ‘how to’ for their accounting system.”

Renee Pellerano

Manager

Renee manages our clients’ portfolios to make sure everything is in order, from compliance to accounting needs. Renee works part-time, and has a young family, so being organised is doubly important.
Outside work, Renee enjoys travelling interstate for family and overseas for adventure — and sleep, when she can find it!

Best part of work: “Interacting with clients and helping them solve whatever issues they come across.”

Ethan Bartlett

Manager

Ethan keeps our client portfolios running smoothly, using his organisational skills to keep compliance and accounting up-to-date and on track. He also is often recruited to help solve IT problems around the office, but only after they’ve turned it off and on again.

Outside work, you’d find Ethan planning his next travel adventure or playing a good-old fashioned game of cricket.

Best part of work: “Solving a problem for a client that means a major win for them and their business.”
